About
Rachel Watson has over 10 years of insolvency experience, working with insolvency practitioners, litigation funders, boards, and individuals, both in the UK and overseas.
With a particular focus on contentious insolvency, she has a track record of advising a broad range of clients in these matters. Examples include advising a US-based lender on significant shortfall in their security, where bankruptcy petitions had been presented against the borrowers. In another matter, she advised a trustee in bankruptcy whether to admit or reject a £4.2 million proof of debt filed by a liquidator, which had allegedly arisen as a result of the bankrupt’s misfeasance. She also advised liquidators of an R&D company that had crowd-funded investment of over £2 million, when the same was dissipated by a director. In addition, she acted for a litigation financing company in pursuing various antecedent transactions.
Rachel is a member of the Law Society.
