Preena Patel specialises in advising charities and non-profits. Her expertise includes advising on the establishment and structure of new charities, including CIOs and CICs, charity incorporations and conversions, charity transfers and mergers, governance issues, regulatory compliance, and fundraising aspects. She has also carried out high-level governance reviews for a variety of charities and advised them on the development of governance policies.
Preena also has regular contact with the Charity Commission, Privy Council Office, and Companies House on behalf of charity clients. She has advised on the setting up of a variety of domestic and international charities, led clients through constitutional change, restructuring, and practical governance arrangements, and advised on charity and school mergers and transfers.
Preena is a member of both the Law Society and the Charity Law Association. She is also a trustee of a small grant-making charity focusing on the environmental and social benefit of sustainable rice farming.
