Phil Smith

Phil Smith is a Partner in the Broadfield’s Reading office, specialising in commercial litigation. His work covers a range of issues including contractual and tort claims, technology disputes, and property litigation.

Phil has a strong track record of bringing and defending claims on behalf of both corporate and individual clients. His experience includes successfully advising an aerospace supply company in a substantial claim resolved through international arbitration proceedings involving three different jurisdictions. He has also advised a FTSE 100 media and technology company in a substantial dispute concerning the installation of satellite television reception equipment at approximately 1,000 sites around the UK, and he advised a multinational software company in a licensing dispute concerning alleged infringement in more than 40 jurisdictions around the globe.

Phil is a member of both the Law Society and the Society for Computers and Law.
