About

Maya Uchima advises technology companies, investors, and market participants across all stages of growth, with a focus on venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic commercial transactions. She counsels clients on corporate governance, capital structure, and long-term business planning, providing practical, business-minded solutions to complex legal challenges.

At Broadfield, she furthers her commitment to the venture capital community, which developed during her time at Dentons where she was a member of the Venture Technology Group. Maya previously served as Corporate Counsel at ConsenSys Mesh, a venture capital fund and accelerator for Web3 companies. There, she led legal support for its accelerator program, advised portfolio companies, and worked closely with cross-functional teams in finance, marketing, and corporate development. She began her legal career at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, representing financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies in multi-billion-dollar capital markets transactions.

Maya earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and received the Parker School Certificate for Achievement in International and Comparative Law. She holds a B.A. in Classics, cum laude, from Columbia College. She was an active member of her prior firm’s Women-in-Tech initiative and regularly attends Columbia Venture Community events. She has been selected as one of the attorneys in the 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America list for her expertise in technology law.

  • Managed the cryptocurrency-specific hedge and risk management contracts of the first-of-its-kind investment by Blockstream Capital Partners in Komainu, funded entirely in Bitcoin.
  • Represented a blockchain-based health platform company in its $9 million Series A round.
  • Advised on and drafted custom token incentive documents for employees and developers of Web3 gaming company.
  • Counseled an AI research and development company on innovative intercompany strategies to launch tokens and fundraise.
  • Represented a metaverse marketplace company in its asset sale to an A.I.I analytics firm.

  • Led Fulgur Ventures’ $210 million investment process into Blockstream Corporation.
  • Represented an SEC-registered investment firm in its Series A investment in a real estate marketplace company.
