Mark Challis has developed a reputation as a specialist in planning law over a 20+ year career, encompassing experience in both local government and private practice. He has advised on numerous developments, including large commercial and major infrastructure projects, as well as a broad range of smaller matters. He is also a respected advisor on compulsory purchase issues, highways law and procedure, and environmental law.

His impressive track record includes advising National Highways on development consent orders (DCOs) in respect of junction improvements on the M25, Transport for London on major infrastructure schemes, various petitioners on both the Crossrail Bill and the HS2 Bill, and numerous developers on commercial, residential, retail, and other developments.

Mark regularly speaks at conferences and seminars and contributes to Butterworths Planning Law Service. He is a member of the Law Society, the Compulsory Purchase Association (CPA), and the National Infrastructure Planning Association (NIPA).
