Kate O’Mara is an experienced planning and environment lawyer, with a particular interest in infrastructure projects. Her experience includes working in the UK government legal department’s energy planning and infrastructure team advising the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. Kate qualified in Australia, where she advised Commonwealth and New South Wales state government agencies, private clients and local councils in relation to planning and environment matters. She also conducted litigation on planning matters, including judicial review.

Her track record includes advising government agencies on both proposed conditions of approval and mitigation measures for a major infrastructure project, and the preservation of a future infrastructure corridor for a proposed major infrastructure project. She has also advised on environmental matters, including the ongoing management and future remediation of a significantly contaminated site, and environmental impact assessments to comply with regulatory and legislative requirements.
