John has over 30 years of experience advising on substantial commercial property acquisitions and disposals, and landlord and tenant lease negotiation. He is an expert in marina, harbour and other waterfront properties, and has also acted for both working and lifestyle farmers, as well as for large agricultural institutional investors.
His experience includes leading the property team in relation to the £200 million disposal of Red Funnel to the Prudential infrastructure fund, and advising on the acquisition of a prime site on the River Dart in Devon for a £75 million mixed marina, leisure, residential, and commercial development.
John was recommended in both the ninth edition of The Best Lawyers in the UK and the Best Lawyers Business Edition for Real Estate law in Southampton. He is a member of both the Law Society and the Countryside Alliance, and is also Honorary Solicitor to the Mission for Seafarers.
