James Brice

James is a Legal Director in the litigation team at our Reading office. He has extensive experience of pursuing and defending claims on behalf of corporate and individual clients, with a particular focus on property damage, construction and insurance disputes, and complex multi-party litigation in the High Court. James also has specialist experience in litigation costs matters.

James’ work covers a wide range of industries, including property, food production, civil engineering, insurance, building safety and more. One particular highlight of his career was acting for a new homes warranty provider in defence of a multi-million pound claim relating to alleged defects at prime residential new homes. He has advised a number of major insurers and their policyholders in relation to policy disputes and professional negligence actions. He was also the lead assistant in the multi-party TCC litigation arising from the Buncefield explosion in 2005, and the management of the costs litigation in the SCCO.

James is a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer and a member of The Law Society.
