Effie Vasilopoulos

Effie Vasilopoulos has served as a leading advisor to global fund sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, family offices, and financial institutions across Asia. She is known for her ability to help clients scale businesses and launch flagship funds in the region. Her expertise extends to structuring complex hybrid fund arrangements, Fund of One strategies, and managed accounts. She is among the few practitioners in Asia Pacific ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global for both private equity and hedge fund structuring.

During her tenure at Sidley Austin LLP, Effie was consistently recognized as a market leader. She maintained a Band 1 ranking in Chambers Global for over a decade and was inducted into The Legal 500 Asia Pacific Hall of Fame for Investment Funds. She also received the Outstanding Practitioner Award from Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Asia Women in Business Law Awards and the Asia Industry Leadership Award from 100 Women in Finance.

Effie has contributed significantly to industry development in Hong Kong, particularly in shaping the Limited Partnership Fund Ordinance (Cap. 537). She received the Gold Award from The Law Society of Hong Kong’s Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme for five consecutive years and was honored with the Special Award for the Year for her work supporting youth and children’s legal advocacy. Effie earned her LL.B from the University of Technology, Sydney and a B.Econ from the University of Sydney.
