About
Claire Collings has worked as a litigator since she qualified in 2001, gaining extensive commercial and insurance litigation expertise, including contract disputes, property litigation, intellectual property disputes, professional negligence claims, and contentious probate disputes. She specialises in insurance litigation, dealing with disputes for both insurers and policyholders, including property damage, product liability, and fraudulent insurance claims.
Claire is a keen advocate for alternative methods of dispute resolution, such as mediation. Her experience includes acting in a highly technical intellectual property dispute, a claim for false inducement, deceit and fraudulent misrepresentation, and acting for policyholders in several disputes with insurers and loss adjusters relating to subsidence damage.
She is a member of the Law Society, The Chartered Insurance Institute, The Charity Law Association, and the Southampton Property Association. She is also on the Council for The Insurance Institute of Southampton and was President in 2023/2024.
