The Planning and Infrastructure Bill, central to the government’s efforts to boost building by streamlining the delivery of new homes and major infrastructure projects, is on track for royal assent before the end of the year. The bill has passed its third reading in the House of Lords and entered the parliamentary “ping pong” stage earlier this week.
In an article for the Estates Gazette, Michael Dempsey discusses the lively debate in the House of Lords, suggesting that the bill could progress through the “ping pong” stage – formally known as the “consideration of amendments” – relatively quickly.
