Perfume Brands Fighting a “Lost Cause” Against Cheap Dupes

Dupes of famous perfumes are becoming increasingly popular, with social media fuelling the trend. There are currently few laws in place that protect the creators of the genuine luxury perfumes.

In articles for multiple publications include The Guardian and Business in Fashion, Legal Director Mireille Dagger outlines why there should be regulatory changes to ensure perfume brands are protected from imitators.

“There have been no known cases in the UK of any perfume brands being able to trade mark their scent – because under UK law, it’s a requirement that a trade mark be graphically representable.”
