The Government has recently announced plans to ban the sales of new leasehold flats in England and Wales.
Currently, when homeowners purchase a flat, they purchase a lease for an agreed number of years and pay additional service charge and ground rent to a landlord or freeholder.
This change will mean that those purchasing flats will go through the ‘common-hold’ system instead.
