Stricter and more aggressive vetting and screening procedures for individuals entering the US demand HR professionals to thoroughly prepare their staff for travel to the country.
In an article for HR Magazine, Partner Tim Hayes explains how firms planning travel to the US need to be aware of the extra scrutiny that will exist, even for routine visits, and that as these travel processes will vary across states, companies must prepare accordingly.
"The US is no longer the frictionless travel destination it once was. Travel, mobility and insurance policies should be reviewed to address individual risk, legal exposure, and the support available if something goes wrong, as well as to clarify which costs the employer would reimburse in the event that things do go wrong."
