Angus specialises in acting for clients in promoting or opposing applications for development consent orders (DCOs) for nationally significant infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008. He is also a recognised expert in helping clients navigate the mandatory biodiversity net gain (BNG) field. In addition, he advises on hybrid bills, transport and works act orders, harbours act orders, and other special consents and areas of environmental law.
He has led or assisted on several projects for National Highways, and acted on DCOs for road, port, airport, and energy infrastructure projects, including promoting the first DCO for a highway project.
Angus is a member of both the Law Society and the Environmental Assessment Expert Panel at the Office for Environmental Protection. He has also previously been Chair of the National Infrastructure Planning Association, and a member of the Planning and Environmental Law Committee of the Law Society.
